POSITION DESCRIPTIONS Purser - Whitsunday Magic Purser's primary role is to take responsibility for guest services and facilities to ensure a pleasurable and memorable experience on-board our delux crewed charter vessel.  The Purser has the responsibility to ensure the comfort, safety and enjoyment of guests.They are the primary point for guest liasion. The Overall Presentation and Condition of the Interior of the Vessel while on charter and during a turnaround is managed by this position also the coordination of food and beverage service. Strong Customer service skills and Hospitality experience is required along with an intrest in the marine tourism industry.

First Mate (Master V) The first mate onboard our 34m deluxe schooner Whitsunday Magic is responsible to lead the operation of the vessel under the direction of the master to ensure a safe pleasurable boating experience of all guests onboard. Nautical knowledge and experience working in the marine tourism industry is required. The ability to organize and supervise crew while conducting marine activities. Sailing and engineering knowledge is required and experience in the operation of tourist activities in the marine environment.

Experienced Cook/Chef The Chef primary roll onboard Whitsunday Magic is to coordinate the preparation and service of all meals on the vessel under the direction of the master and in liasion with the purser. The cook will take responsibility for the galley area to ensure food safety standards are met. Meal planning, preperation and provisioning are regularly addressed. The cook will have experience working in a senior roll in the kitchen and posess a high standard of service along with customer service and hospitality experience and an understanding of the marine tourism industry.

Bar Person The Bar person is responsible to organize and operate the licensed bar on board under the direction of the master so as to enhance a pleasurable experience for all guests onboard. Responsibilities include the responsible service of alcoholic and non alcoholic beverages, the provisioning and restocking of supplies and managing regular stock takes cleaning and assistion the Purser when required. The bar person will be required  in other areas of the vessel operation when conducting marine activites, experience and an intrest in marine related activites will be an advantage.

Maintenance Person This position is Part Time/Casual.  Position is responsible to the Maintenance Operations Manager to assist with Maintenance onboard our Tall Ships and Maxi Yachts.  Postion includes vessel repairs and servicing along with vessel presentation, such as painting/varnishing.  Background in General Marine and Boat Maintenance would be highly desirable.  Work hours will include after hours and weekend work.

Master V med III Responsible for all aspects of the operation of the vessel, for the safety and wellbeing of all guests and crew onboard along with the manouvering and safe navigation throughout the 2 /3 day charters. The Master/Skipper will participate in running maintinance and Monitor safety equipment onboard and comply with required Marine legislation. Extensive sailing knowledge and engineering skills required and experience working within the Marine Tourisim (Customer Service) Industry an advantage.
