Enjoy 3 days and 2 nights sailing around the Whitsunday Islands onboard the Ragamuffin II. Ragamuffin II was designed for the Admiral's Cup by Australia's famous yacht designer, Ben Lexcen.  Tours on-board Ragamuffin are most popular with the 18-40s and adventure travellers. Smaller groups of 13 guests, with 2 crew, generally mean it is quieter on board. This tour offer time to explore the islands, including time to relax at the magificient Whitehaven Beach, a guided walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout and experience two or three snorkelling stops on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the Islands.

On Ragamuffin an optional Scuba Dive is also available. For guests who want to be involved, they can help set the sails, have a turn on the wheel and get some awesome sailing photos. The Captain and crew will provide interpretive information on the Whitsunday Islands and the Marine Park.
Day 1 - Meet with our Crew at the Marina at 9am. Depart the marina at 9.30am and sail to first anchorage. By 11:30am, be in the water and enjoy your first snorkel on the fringing coral reefs of the Whitsundays. After lunch set sail for a few hours, sailing around islands before arriving at Tongue Bay ready for sunset drinks. After dinner relax, enjoy a few drinks before settling down for the night.

Day 2 - After Breakfast, go to the island for a guided bush walk to the Hill Inlet Lookout. A spectacular lookout over looking Whitehaven Beach. Then walk down the track and enter onto Whitehaven Beach for a few hours. Back on board enjoy lunch before setting sails for an afternoon sail along the western side of Hook Island to the northern end of the Whitsundays. Enjoy an hour on the beach, relax on board or go snorkelling. Overnight anchor in one of the many bays on Hook Island. Tonights sunset will be spectacular as the sunsets over the water. After Dinner relax, enjoy a few drinks before settling down for the night.

Day 3 - After Breakfast enjoy snorkelling and/or an optional Introductory or Certified Scuba Dive on the fringing coral reefs which extend right from the edge of the islands. These reefs are teeming with marine life and the experience is memorable for the snorkelling novice through to seasoned snorkellers. Set sail to Langford Reef for lunchtime anchorage, before hoisting the sails around 1:45pm and sailing past the islands and across the Whitsunday Passage back to Abel Point Marina at 4:30pm.

This itinerary is an example and is subject to change based on winds and tidal conditions for the comfort and safety of guests and crew.

Whitsunday Sailing Check-in Arrangements
Guests are asked to confirm their travel 48 hours before departure by calling 07 4946 4999.
Guests travelling on Ragamuffin should check-in at Explore Whitsundays, 4 Airlie Esplanade Airlie Beach 4802.  The office hours are 7:30am to 7pm. Check-in should be done the day before travel or by latest 7:45am day of travel.  At check-in you will be provided with a boarding pass and a soft sided travel bag.  To speed up the check-in process, a web check-in can be done to collect predeparture information.
To do the web check-in guests will require their booking reference number.

What to Pack
Please pack in the soft sided bag provided during check-in.  We suggest: swimmers, beach towel, sunscreen, lip balm, sunglasses, hat, jacket or sweater, sandals/joggers/thongs for island walk, toiletries, and any prescribed medicines.  There are no shops around the islands, so please pick up important items or treats before arriving at the marina.

Diving
(1 dive) Diving is available when we meet up with our rendezvous dive boat Tornado. Whether you are a certified diver or a first time diver, we offer all guests the opportunity to discover the underwater world. With multiple dive locations available, we have the ability to move to the best diving spot on the day. You can pre book a dive at the Explore Whitsundays office in Airlie Beach, or organize with the crew on tour. To guarantee availability we advise pre booking your dive before departure.

Drinks
Ragamuffin is a BYO vessel, this means you are able to bring your own alcohol onto the tour (no glass or red wine). Drinking water is included throughout your tour, however soft drinks are available for purchase on board. The crew will keep a tab and you can pay at the end of your tour.

Inexperienced Swimmers/Snorkellers
Don't worry, we supply swimming noodles and additional floatation as required.  We will do a risk assessment on every guest before entering the water.  While in the water the small tender will be relatively close by.  We also have staff on look-out duty.  In the Whitsundays, the reefs we visit are off the beaches, so it is pretty easy to make way to the beach.

Large Luggage
Large bags cannot be taken on-board.  Storage services are available in Airlie Beach for a fee, generally around $5.

Parking
Guests can park vehicles at Abell Point Marina.  It is a Pay and Display car park with the fee of $8.00 per day, payable by coins or credit card.
